                                                                                                                       Water Rites

Water Rites is a visual essay documenting freshwater springs and the communities of swimmers and forest bathers that gather among them. Beginning in northern Florida in 2009, this project is a running chronicle documenting chance encounters with kindred spirits during summer swims. Through participant observation, this work serves as a personal archive and a growing record of these vulnerable natural spaces, highlighting those in communion with fresh water.
